Topsail Cody Nel 1980 un famoso trainer di nome Bob Loomis qualificò tre cavalli alle finali del Futurity della National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). Bob conquistò il podio con un cavallo di nome Topsail Cody. Lo stalloncino color chestnut superò il primo Go Round con un punteggio di 230, a ruota scavalcò il secondo Go Round con 232 punti e mezzo. Bob Loomis e Topsail Cody spinsero al massimo nella finale lanciandosi in Stop strepitosi.
Il pubblico si alzò in piedi e i giudici Sunny Jim Orr, Paul Schuh e Edwin Cridge diedero i loro punteggi per un totale di 234 e mezzo. La coppia si aggiudicò il trofeo NRHA Futurity Open Champion e un assegno di 29.236 dollari. Bob Loomis acquistò Topsail Cody quando aveva appena un anno di vita, alla Willow Brook Farm. Il cavallino era un regalo per il fratello di Bob, senza minimamente sospettare che in quel grazioso puledro si celava un simile talento. Ma Topsail Cody figlio di Joe Cody e della grande fattrice Doc Bar Linda figlia di Doc Bar, pluricampionessa in discipline come Halter e Hunter Under Saddle, tornò ben presto nelle mani di Bob per le sue doti e per il fisico che mostrava. Dopo aver conquistato il titolo di NRHA Futurity Champion, l'anno successivo e precisamente il 1981 la coppia Bob Loomis e Topsail Cody conquistò anche il titolo di Campioni del Mondo nella categoria Junior Reining. Nel 1988 lo stallone fu il quarto cavallo a raggiungere il titolo di Million Dollar Sire. I suoi figli annoverano, in allegra confusione, Futurity Champions, NRHA World Champions, vincitori di Derby e Superstakes, Campioni del mondo AQHA. Oltre a Topsail Whiz, principe ereditario della dinastia, i cui successi sono ancora cronaca recente, vale la pena ricordare Cee Blair Sailor (da Miss Cee Blair), che ha un Lifetime Earning di oltre novantamila dollari ed è stato Futurity Finalist, lazy e classic Reserve Champion, intermediate Non Pro World Champion e Open e Limited Open World Champion.
Tra i figli campioni c'è anche una femmina, Rest Stop (da Villa Eddy), 1988 Futurity Reserve Champion con Doug Milholland, e Non Pro Reserve World Champion con il suo proprietario, Marc Wagman. Rest Stop fu inoltre un'ottima fattrice: Suo figlio Tougher Than The Rest che montato sempre da Wagman ottenne la vittoria nella classe Non Pro della 2000 NRBC fu anche Derby Non Pro Reserve Champion. Topsail Cody fu quindi anche un affermato Maternal Grandsire (nelle statistiche ufficiali arrivò al sesto posto). Sua fu, ad esempio la paternità della mamma di Sailing Smart, (lo stallone by Smart Chic Olena montato da Craig Johnson) e di un altro stallone della stessa stirpe, Magnum Chic Dream, Limited Open Reserve Champion con Patty Brownshadel al Futurity 1999. E ancora, del pluridecorato Arc Sparkle Surprise. L'elenco dei prodotti di Topsail Cody che hanno avuto successo potrebbe prosegiure ancora: Lo stallone ormai volato nei verdi pascoli dei cieli è stato parte fondamentale del Reining Mondiale. Topsail Cody morì il 23 Febbraio del 2002 in seguito ad una colica. Ha trascorso i suoi ultimi periodi di vita con il suo ultimo proprietario Dick Randall presso le scuderie Boyle Performance Horses, accerchiato da una corte di fattrici, dando fino all'ultimo nuovi impulsi a molti Breeding Programs della West Coast.
